The Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Novosibirsk paid a working visit to AltSU

On June 11, Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Novosibirsk, Yatim Davlatkhodzha, paid a working visit to the flagship Altai State University.

During the meeting, there was a discussion of the issues of further cooperation of the flagship university of Altai Krai with  Republic of Tajikistan, and, first of all, with the scientific and educational organizations of the country.

Currently, AltSU has more than 1600 foreign students, of which 261 people are citizens of Republic of Tajikistan.

The flagship university of Altai Krai has been cooperating fruitfully with higher educational institutions of Tajikistan, with international interuniversity associations being the basis of it, primarily the University of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Association of Asian Universities. In particular, under the auspices of the SCO University, AltSU interacts with Tajik National University, Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University (RTSU), Tajik Agrarian University Shirinsho Shotemur (TAU), Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Aini, Tajikistan State University of Law, Business, & Politics, Tajik Technical University (TTU) named after academician M. Osimi.

As part of the visit, there was a meeting with Rector of Altai State University Sergey Bocharov. At the meeting, the leader of the flagship university outlined the current state of affairs of cooperation between Altai State University and scientific and educational organizations of Tajikistan, and the specifics of teaching Tajik students during the coronavirus pandemic. They also discussed teaching the Russian language in Tajikistan. Sergei Bocharov recalled that Altai State University is a member of the Resource Centers of Russian Education Abroad project, whose priority task is to select and prepare talented schoolchildren for admission and study at Russian universities. The teachers provide in-depth study of general education subjects (mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy and others) in Russian. In 2019, in Dushanbe, the consortium opened the Center for Russian Education, where specialists from Altai State University teach biology.

During the dialogue, proposals were made related to the targeted training of students in the areas in demand for the economy and social sphere of Republic of Tajikistan, including the development of specialized programs commissioned by the relevant ministries of Republic of Tajikistan.

In the end of the visit to the flagship Altai State University, the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Novosibirsk had a meeting with the student activists of the university - Tajik students of Altai State University at different faculties and in different directions.
