From October 14 to 17, the international scientific conference "Actual Problems of Biotechnology" is being held at Ural Federal University in Yekaterinburg. Ivan Evdokimov, Deputy Director of the Prombiotech Engineering Center and Candidate of Biological Sciences, is participating.

The conference has brought together scientists from numerous countries working on diverse aspects of biotechnology. Among the 80 oral presentations, 25 were delivered by international researchers from India, China, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. Russian participants represent a wide geographic scope, including scientific, academic, and business institutions from St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Saratov, Barnaul, Tomsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Perm, and Moscow.

The conference covers key areas such as food biotechnology, bioactive substances, pharmaceuticals; industrial biotechnology; preclinical trials of biotechnological products; biochemistry, plant physiology, and biotechnology; immuno- and nanobiotechnology; agricultural biotechnology; cellular and genetic engineering; and biocatalysis.

Barnaul, in particular Altai State University, is represented by Ivan Evdokimov, Deputy Director of the Prombiotech Engineering Center and Candidate of Biological Sciences. He commented:

"This conference stands out for the substantial number of international participants, alongside Russian speakers from many regions of our vast country. The wealth of experience shared in the presentations reflects the high standard of research across multiple fields of biotechnology. Additionally, the research methods and technologies in our countries bear strong similarities, underscoring the significance and quality of both Russian and international scientific work.

My presentation on developing and optimizing a technology for producing a novel probiotic preparation was well received, sparking considerable interest in our capabilities and practical applications. I was pleasantly surprised that the organizers had reviewed information about the Prombiotech Engineering Center and our developments prior to my talk and introduced me as a developer in biopharmaceuticals and applied and industrial microbiology. I look forward to further collaboration."

The conference will continue until October 17, featuring oral presentations and a poster session. It is worth noting that UrFU offers master's and doctoral programs in Biotechnology for international students, and a dedicated section for these international students is planned as part of the conference.
