ASU hosted over 800 guests from 3 Russian regions and Kazakhstan on the Welcome Day

ASU has held the first Welcome Day of this academic year at three sites – campuses D, L and M.

The event’s program consisted of general tour of the University, meetings with Faculties’ deans and teaching staff and ASU graduates, master classes and preliminary round of the All-Siberian Open Schoolchildren Competition in Physics.
8-11 grade pupils took an active part in testing organized by lecturers and students of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogics, classes of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Faculty of History on hieroglyphic writing, classes of the Faculty of Geography on hiking gear preparation. ASU College conducted several creativity master classes at the Welcome Day.

The participants included more than 800 people from 52 general education establishments of Barnaul, 71 general education establishments of Altai Krai, Novosibirsk Oblast, Republic of Altai and Kazakhstan. Particularly, schoolchildren, their parents and teacher from such cities and towns as Barnaul, Novoaltaysk, Biysk, Belokurikha, Zarinsk, Rubtsovsk, Slavgorod, Yarovoye, Aleysk, Kamen-na-Obi, Novosibirsk, Gorno-Altaysk, Ust-Kamenogorsk visited the ASU Welcome Day.

“At the universitywide Welcome Day the future developments in 2016 enrollment campaign were announced. We have also conducted two sessions of free tutorials on Unified State Examination in 11 subjects and tutorials on the creative exam for the Department of Journalism and Faculty of Arts enrollees,” specified Head of the Department of Work with Prospective Students and Graduates Job Placement of ASU Elena N. Goncharova. “As a result of the Welcome Day, we have the participants lists formed, schoolchildren’s preferences in Faculties specified. We have already added these statistics to the Single Data Base of ASU prospective students.”

Besides the universitywide Welcome Day, there are also Faculties’ Welcome Days conducted for the second year in a row. Special schedule is compiled so that students could get to know the peculiarities of education of every ASU Faculty.
