New president of Asian Universities Associations was elected at ASU

Today Altai State University hosted the election of new president and vice presidents of Asian Universities Associaton, which was organized in the framework of the 2nd general meeting with the participation of delegations from 8 world’s countries.

Particularly, there were 6 vice presidents elected: Rector of Russian-Armenian University Armen R. Darbinyan, Rector of Northeastern University of China Zhao Ji, Rector of B.N. Yeltsin Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University Vladimir I. Nifadyev, Rector of Khovd University (Mongolia) Myagmarsuren Altanbagana, Rector of Altai State University Sergey V. Zemlyukov and Rector of Tajik National University Muhammadyusuf Saidali Imomzoda.

Rector of L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University Erlan B. Sydykov was elected as a new president of Asian Universities Association. ASU Rector and first president of Association Sergey V. Zemlyukov gave his successor the Association’s chronicles in a form of a beautifully made book, organization’s flag and certificate of president’s authority delegation.

Erlan B. Sydykov thanked his colleagues for their confidence and promised the meeting participants to work on the Association development actively and strengthen its positions on the global stage.

“Asian region is a dynamically developing territory in economy and education. The countries’ oppurtunities should be brought together to create a powerful syndicate, which will be able to show the whole world an example of humane and progressive collaboration. In my opinion, Asian Universities Association can become an effective instrument in realization of this plan,” emphasized new president of Asian Universities Associatoin.
