Academic mobility: ASU students traveled to Astana

On 14 April 2017 L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, which is located in Astana (Kazakhstan), held the XII International Scientific Conference for Students and Young Scientists. Students of Altai State University (Faculty of Mass Communication, Philology and Political Science and Faculty of Law) took an active part in the event.

The academic event was aimed at popularization of science among students and development of research skills. Students learned how to achieve success, present their research results and hold a scientific discussion. Moreover, students received an opportunity to publish their works and articles in a collection of studies.

The conference started with a plenary session, where the most significant student reports were presented in different languages. Further, the participants were divided into different sections.

ASU students arrived in Astana a day before the conference. They dedicated their free time to excursions around the city. The students visited the key tourist attractions of Astana, walked a lot and made a number of commemorative photos.

Students shared their impressions of the trip.

Yana Morozova, Faculty of Mass Communication, Philology and Political Science:

“The trip to the conference in Astana granted be a lot of positive emotions and gave me a chance to look at Kazakhstan, it culture and wonderful people from the new perspective. Kazakh hospitality allowed us to get acquainted with Astana and enjoy its beauty. I can safely say that Astana is a city of prospects and opportunities. I am glad that Altai State University cooperates with L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University and that I am a small part of this cooperation.”

Yana Mezentseva, Faculty of Mass Communication, Philology and Political Science:

“Astana is a wonderful, majestic city. My emotions and impressions are beyond words. If you have never visited Astana, you should definitely do it! Eurasian National University was very hospitable and received us gladly. As for us, we managed to deliver our reports successfully. Students of Altai State University are a harmonious organism that can find a way out of any situation and remain on friendly terms.”

Anastasia Marchenko, Faculty of Law:

“The conference was organized on a very high level. Communicating with lecturers and students of Eurasian National University, we received a lot wonderful impressions. I think that participation in such a conference provided us with invaluable experience, which will be useful for our further activity.”
