ASU will raise the number of its international students

Press conference with Rector of flagship Altai State University Sergey V. Zemlyukov was held yesterday, 6 July 2017, at press center of Interfax Siberia Information Agency.

Sergey V. Zemlyukov noted that Altai State University was going to increase the number of international students studying at ASU by 2021. The share of foreigners will grow from 15 to 20%.

“Currently, the proportion of international students is 15%, which is about 1,000 people. We will raise this rate to 20% by 2021,” ASU Rector Sergey V. Zemlyukov said at the press conference.

For the present moment, the majority of foreign students, who study at Altai State University, have come from near-abroad countries such as Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and so on. Around 150 students have come to ASU from far-abroad countries.
