24 October 2017 Faculty of Law
Students from the Faculty of Law at Altai State University Denis Alilekov, Pavel Travkin, Julia Gyunter, Olesya Smokotnina, Alexander Bobrovsky, Eugenia Beich and Valeria Novoselova participated in Deutschsprachiger Studiengang (DSG) Program, which allows studying the law of Germany in the German language.

DSG Program on German law in the German language is a unique educational project realized by the Law School of Siberian Federal University and the University of Passau (Germany) under the support of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD – Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst). The aim of the program is to provide Russian students with an opportunity to study different branches of German law and deepen knowledge of the English language.

After successful completion of DSG Program students get an opportunity to be enrolled to the University of Passau on a competitive basis. Over the past 18 years in the framework of the program the Law School of Siberian Federal University has trained over 220 specialists in scientific and practical jurisprudence, who know two legal systems, speak German and possess necessary skills for intercultural communications. The Law School of Siberian Federal University is a base university in DSG Program for higher education establishments of Tomsk, Omsk, Kemerovo, Barnaul, Irkutsk. This program is carried out on the premises of Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk).

4th year student Denis Alilekov has taken part in the session for the 5th time. Denis has been a program participant for the last two years. The student passed 5 examinations in different areas of German law during this period.

On 9–14 October 2017 lecturers from Germany Christian Kalin and Martin Schild delivered series of lectures on civil law in the German language for students taking DSG Program. According to Denis, this session was the most difficult one and required application of the most efforts for course completion. The session program involved studying the general part of German civil law (the civil code of Germany, Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch, BGB) and working on cases based on the specific part of the civil code. The academic days were busy. Students participating in the program studied for 8–9 hours every day during the whole session without regard to independent learning of material.

Intensive work resulted in examination on the studied material. Despite all the difficulties, the students passed the exams successfully and received scholarship provided by DSG Program.

After the examination the students met in informal setting and discussed the prospects for further studying in Germany.

The students of the Faculty of Law express their gratitude to DSG Coordinator in Siberian Federal University, Candidate of Law L.V. Maiorova, Dean of the Faculty of Law at ASU N.V. Karlova and Assistant Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages in Economics and Law at ASU A.V. Korneeva for support and opportunity to participate in this educational program.
