Altai State University took an active part in the All-Russian Science Festival Nauka 0+ 2018, which was held on October 12–14 at the Barnaul Drama Theater.

The flagship university presented eight diverse interactive sites in the Drama Theater, where guests of the festival could familiarize themselves with the achievements of the university in programming robots, neurotechnologies, research of biodiversity of Altai Krai, exhibits of the Museum of Nature, spectroscopic devices and much more.

“Altai State University conducts fruitful and versatile work with schoolchildren of different ages. At the festival of science, we presented the most interesting sites that demonstrate the advanced achievements of university science. It is safe to say that children who are passionate about scientific research in various fields are further oriented towards entering Altai State University. Mostly from the ninth grade, children are guided by the flaghsip higher educational institution thanks to our lecturers and researchers who enticed them with serious science,” acting Rector of Altai State University Sergei N. Bocharov said.

One of the places to attract young people to ASU is Eureka Center for Youth Innovation Creativity, which presented a poster exhibition at the festival and showed Neurofeedback a brain simulator based on which you can develop a great number of neural interfaces that help a person enhance their abilities or compensate different defects.

The sites of Altai State University were visited by acting Deputy Chairman of the Altai Krai Government Vitaly V. Snesar and acting Minister of Education and Science of Altai Krai Alexander A. Zhidkikh.

“The festival is held in the region for the fourth time. Young, inquiring minds are involved in this event. We are proud to look at the programs presented by the region’s universities, and, to be honest, it captures the spirit of what you see and what you think about after becoming acquainted with the scientific achievements of the university teams. Of course, the leadership of the country and the region understand and emphasize the importance of the time we live in. According to the President of the Russian Federation, science is the priority of national development, and young scientists are to implement this postulate in the future,” Vitaly V. Snesar said while welcoming the participants of the festival.

It is to be reminded that the main idea of the festival is to popularize scientific and innovative activities, attracting the attention of a wide range of people to the work of researchers necessary for the development of society. It is important to demonstrate the place and role of science in the modern world, to show the relevance and necessity of introducing scientific knowledge into people's lives.
