Altai State University enters the TOP-3 of the flagship universities of Russia in RUR world ranking

Flagship Altai State University entered the list of the Round University Ranking with 697 positions, becoming one of the 74 universities of Russia represented in the ranking. In total, 820 universities from 74 countries of the world managed to enter the ranking.

Among the universities of Russia, ASU occupies the 36th position, right after Far Eastern Federal University, and being ahead of 4 universities participating in the 5-100 Program and 10 flagship universities of Russia. It should be added that ASU took the 2nd position among the 12 flagship universities of Russia that managed to enter the ranking.

Among the universities of the Siberian Federal District, ASU took the 4th position, only giving way to the participants of the 5-100 Program – Tomsk State University, Novosibirsk State University and Tomsk Polytechnic University.

The university earned the most points for indicators showing international cooperation and took the 507 position among the world’s universities.

The Round University Ranking (RUR) is an international university ranking published by the RUR Ranking Agency. The ranking assesses the activities of 1,100 leading universities from 86 countries of the world over 10 years (2010-2019) on 20 indicators measuring 4 areas of activity: the quality of teaching, the quality of research, the level of internationalization and the level of financial stability. Such a broad coverage makes the RUR rating a unique tool for choosing universities for study and work, comparing higher education institutions on a global scale. In addition to the overall ranking, RUR includes 30 rankings in 6 subject areas: humanities, life sciences, medical sciences, natural sciences, social sciences, technical sciences.

The RUR international university ranking is the first regularly updated global ranking of universities of Russian origin. The ranking was created to assess and make decisions on the choice of universities in accordance with the personal tasks of key interested parties: applicants and students, academic community, university management, government.
