Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development of ASU visits the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic

On April 16, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development of ASU Roman I. Raikin met with the well-known public figure, deputy and leader of Ata-Zhurt political party Jyrgalbek K. Turuskulov in Bishkek. The meeting took place in the building of Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan.

The delegation of Altai State University, including Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development R.I. Raikin and Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Doctor of Biology, Professor M.M. Silantyeva, paid an official visit to Bishkek.

On April 16, R.I. Raikin visited the national parliament at the invitation of the deputy of Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan, leader of Ata-Zhurt political party Jyrgalbek K. Turuskulov. As part of a meeting with the leader of the parliamentary party, the issues of expanding the international cooperation between ASU and Kyrgyz universities in the field of education, science and culture were discussed. In particular, J.K. Turuskulov suggested considering the possibility of preferential admission to Altai State University for school graduates from poor families from the regions of Kyrgyzstan. In this case, training could be carried out on a grant basis. In his response, R.I. Raikin noted that educational cooperation with Kyrgyzstan was one of the priorities of the international activities for ASU, and currently more than 100 students from Kyrgyzstan were studying at the university.

The parties also discussed the prospects for signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between ASU and Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan, as well as topics for potential joint projects.

At the end of the meeting, J.K. Turuskulov donated collected works by Chyngyz Aitmatov in 10 volumes to the Center of the Kyrgyz Language and Culture at ASU.
