Rubtsovsk Institute (Branch) of Altai State University entered the top 3 Russian universities according to the results of the implementation of “Green Universities of Russia” program.

The environmental program rating was conducted among 200 Russian universities.

The degree of participation of student teams was assessed by the following criteria: the introduction of separate waste collection, water conservation measures, the number and effectiveness of environmental education activities.

The team of students at Rubtsovsk Institute introduced separate waste collection, which is currently carried out on an ongoing basis, and became a winner of the Separate with Us eco-quest. Within the framework of Water of Russia and Forestmania quests, the students from Rubtsovsk organized campaigns and flash mobs to save water, clean the river banks, conducted interactive lessons and lectures on environmental topics, and also planted trees.

“We managed to plant more than a million seedlings of young pine trees, improve and green the territory of the university courtyard, reduce water consumption at the university, and promote the ideas of sustainable development in the youth environment. And all this allowed us to enter the global UI GreenMetric ranking,” Natalya Kamyshnikova, Deputy Director for Research at Rubtsovsk Institute, said.
