Green Technologies of Altai State University is a modern brand that combines the scientific and practical developments of university scientists related to the organization and management of modern agricultural land use with means and methods of biologization, digitalization, monitoring, evaluation and modeling of the processes.

Since 2017, Altai State University has been implementing a strategic project "Creation and launch of competitive domestic biological products and technologies for the agro-industrial complex on the basis of an innovative model of a complete scientific and technological cycle" (AgroBio project).

Active external participants in the project are the Rosreestr Administration for the Altai Territory, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Altai Territory, the Center for Grain Quality Assessment (Altai Branch), the Federal Research Center "Fundamentals of Biotechnology" of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Federal Altai Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology, Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University and other partners. Institutes and research centers of Altai State University became internal participants of the project: Altai Center for Applied Biotechnology, Space Monitoring Center, Engineering Center "Prombiotech", South Siberian Botanical Garden.

According to Head of the strategic project, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Vladimir Tatarintsev, in order to systematize the work, within the implemented strategic project, six project areas have been identified, provided with relevant educational programs of three levels (bachelor's, master's, postgraduate studies) to train highly qualified specialists. Within the project directions, in accordance with the needs and requirements of the regional agro-industrial complex, the goals are defined and the directions of scientific research and applied activities are implemented.

Thus, the project direction "Biotechnological preparations for the agro-industrial complex" is associated with the development of biological products that contribute to the preservation of seeds and tubers, as well as finished agricultural products; biotechnological preparations for the food and processing industry; biological growth regulators and biopesticides; biologically active additives for agricultural facilities, and also produces scaling of biological products available in the collection of the university and industrial partners.

Within the second project direction, associated with the development and implementation of biotechnological methods for improving the properties of agricultural crops, work is underway to study the pathogenesis of seeds of varieties and selection samples of agricultural crops; laboratory testing of biological products at agricultural facilities; application of the hydroponic method of growing agricultural and ornamental plants. The scientific and practical basis of the direction is the Altai Center for Applied Biotechnology, created and productively working at Altai State University.

Within the framework of the project direction "Biological means of protection and diagnostics of agricultural objects", developed on the basis of the South-Siberian Botanical Garden of Altai State University, research of the species of food and pharmaceutical raw materials by methods of molecular genetics is carried out; technologies for obtaining genetically transformed roots of various agricultural and ornamental crops are being developed; analysis and diagnostics of the qualitative composition of food products and agricultural raw materials; studies of entomopathogenic organisms of insects - pests of agriculture and forestry and development on their basis of biotechnology for obtaining and production of biological plant protection products.

The project direction "Organization and digitalization of agricultural land use" exists and develops at the university for about a year. Its purpose is to organize and manage a modern agricultural landscape using digital technologies. The directions of scientific research and applied activities are aimed at studying and assessing the quantitative and qualitative indicators of agricultural land use, modeling agricultural land use, conducting cadastral works, developing and compiling thematic digital maps, IT services for agricultural producers and agribusiness management systems.

The goal of another project direction -  "Assessment and monitoring of agricultural territories" - was to determine the natural and anthropogenic potential of agricultural land and study its changes in space and time lag. The areas of scientific research and applied activities include agroecological, economic (cadastral), socio-economic assessment of agricultural land use; local agronomic weather forecast and assessment of the state of land resources; monitoring of agroecosystems for precision and organic farming; preparation for certification and certification of land plots for organic farming; assessment and modeling of processes affecting regional organic farming.

University scientists working in the framework of the project direction "Export and innovative processing of agricultural products" are actively studying the potential of organic products export, export of gluten-free raw materials, export logistics of agricultural raw materials and finished products and other topical issues related to the agro-industrial complex of the region.

A separate segment of the project area is the innovative high-tech deep processing of agricultural products for the trendy market of products for a healthy lifestyle. The developments are carried out in accordance with the priority direction of the scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation - the creation of safe and high-quality, including functional, food products.
