On Friday, October 16, Altai State University will host the semi-final of the competition Factory of Business Ideas, which will be organized in a distance format.

The competition is held as part of the implementation of the regional project Popularization of Entrepreneurship and is aimed at creating conditions for the formation of entrepreneurial thinking among young people, the development of business activity and support for competitive business ideas.

Olga  Vysotskaya, Director of the Center for the Development of Technological Entrepreneurship, Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Management at AltSU, clarifies that about 300 people took part in the competition, who submitted more than 130 projects to the jury.

“Of course, we saw the interest of the guys in the business topic. I am especially pleased to note that a significant proportion of projects are technology entrepreneurship projects. Many of them became semi-finalists of the competition. In the semi-finals, the guys will have to defend their work, and the best 15 projects will be selected for the final of the competition. The jury of the competition included representatives of Altai Krai business, in particular, Oleg Sheludyakov, a public representative of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives in Altai Krai in the direction of "Entrepreneurship and Technologies". Of course, for all participants this is a great opportunity to present their projects, get competent feedback and make their project better”, emphasizes Olga Vysotskaya.

“Participation in the Factory of Business Ideas project for students is, first of all, an opportunity to try yourself as a beginner entrepreneur, to improve their soft skills, such as teamwork, leadership skills, preparation of a presentation, in conjunction with their future professional activities. One of the important points of the competition is to receive feedback from professionals in their field on the proposed business ideas, and to realize the possibility of implementation. For university teachers, this is an opportunity to see their students from a new perspective, as creative and successful young professionals”, says Svetlana Lepeshkina, certified business coach in social entrepreneurship, Candidate of Economic Sciences of the Department of Finance and Credit, deputy director of the International Institute of Management and Information Systems for Educational Work and Employment.

The semi-final will feature 30 projects in different areas of business.
