AltSU geographers summed up the results of the international project Erasmus +

From 18 to 26 August, teachers of the Faculty of Geography of Altai State University took part in the international scientific and practical conference "Problems of the transboundary river Ili and its tributaries: the Charyn and Kurty rivers", timed to the meeting of all countries participating in the Treasure Water project.

Representatives of 4 Russian and 2 Kazakhstan universities, as well as Greek and German universities gathered to summarize the results of the Erasmus + international project “Institutional partnership for the sustainability of transboundary water use: Russia and Kazakhstan”. This project of the European Union program aims to strengthen inter-university cooperation and promote the modernization of educational resources in the field of transboundary water use and water resources management.

The delegation of Altai State University included the project manager from the flagship university of Altai Krai, Professor of the Department of Nature Management and Geoecology of the Faculty of Geography G.Ya. Baryshnikov, Head of the Department of Nature Management and Geoecology T.V. Antyufeeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Geography and GIS O.N. Baryshnikova, Senior teacher of the Department of Nature Management and Geoecology O.V. Denisenko. In addition, the academic science was represented by Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Water and Environmental Problems of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Geogaphy B.A. Krasnoyarova.

The main venue for the conference was the K.I.Satpayev Institute of Geological Sciences in Almaty with the support of the Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Nur-Sultan. The group was curated by Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences IGN Saida Nigmatova and Doctor of Biological Sciences of ENU Raikhan Beisenova.

During the final coordination meeting, the results of work within the framework of the project "Institutional partnership for the sustainability of transboundary water use: Russia and Kazakhstan" were considered, and a strategy for further interaction with industrial partners in the direction of the project was developed.
