On November 27, Altai State University completed the first stage of the campus project implemented by the flagship university of Altai Krai jointly with Sberbank and VTB Bank.

According to Rector of Altai State University Sergey Bocharov, the completion of the first stage of the campus project is simultaneously the start of several new digital projects at the university. In particular, on the basis of access identification by bank cards, AltSU plans to start implementing a project to connect electronic keys to bank cards to classrooms and premises of the university, as well as access to electronic libraries and many other services where electronic access is required.

“Back in 2019, Altai State University, together with Sberbank and VTB Bank, agreed on the implementation of a campus project, which includes the installation of software that is integrated into the university's security system and allows for a centralized entrance to the university buildings”, specifies Sergey Bocharov. “Sberbank and VTB Bank issued bank cards and prepared special corporate cards for us with the AltSU main building depicted on the front side.”

All employees and students of Altai State University, who are clients of Sberbank, receive the bank's payroll cards of the MIR national payment system, and those who are clients of VTB Bank - personalized plastic multi-cards of the MIR/Maestro payment system. All bank cards with the image of Altai State University are now not only a means of payment, but also a pass to the territory of the university, as well as an information profile about the systems of the university.

“Sberbank of Russia has been developing in the digital direction for a long time, and campus projects with Russian universities are one of these forms of work”, said Anna Lupikova, Head of Sberbank Department. “Bank cards used within the framework of the project are absolutely safe. It is not only a means of payment, but also a pass to the university. At the same time, these two functions are completely unrelated to each other; therefore, situations of debiting or transferring funds when passing through the turngate are excluded. Your funds are reliably protected!"

“In the future, developing the campus project, we, like Sberbank, are planning to integrate several additional services into one card: access to the library, access to a personal computer, a record book, and much more”, said Deputy Manager for Retail Business of Barnaul VTB Bank Alexander Zdvizhkov. “We have been cooperating with Altai State University for more than 13 years, and we are glad that on the eve of the 30th anniversary of VTB Bank we have implemented a serious joint project. Moreover, in Altai Krai, this is the first campus project of VTB Bank with a university in the region."

AltSU, Sberbank and VTB Bank plan to continue working within the framework of the campus project, developing its new directions.
