Unique developments of AltSU’s scientists were presented at the regional site of the Science Festival NAUKA 0+

On September 17, the grand opening of the All-Russian Science Festival NAUKA 0+ in Altai Krai took place in the Concert Hall “Sibiria” in Barnaul.

The guests of the festival at an interactive exhibition got acquainted with various products of research activities of scientists from universities and institutes of the region, corresponding to the thematic months of the Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation.

Altai State University organized three sites. One of them is dedicated to personalized nutrition with a demonstration of products that correspond to the development trend of the food industry. Here AltSU presented innovative developments of the residents of the Student Business Incubator: marmalade, created on the basis of natural ingredients, such as pectin, dry honey, lupine products, and meitake mushrooms (Grifola frondosa).

In the sector "New Medicine" the guests of the festival learned about screening programs for a health examination. As the developers of the flagship university explain, the complex of computerized medical screening programs contains test questions formulated and grouped in a special way by medical scientists for individual diseases, taking into account gender, age, heredity, and cause-and-effect relationships. All points in the questionnaires are presented in an understandable form to a wide range of users.

In the sector "Man, nature, society and technology", a demonstration of a developmental application for preschool children was held, which promotes the formation of a craving in children to receive and memorize information.
From the stage of the Concert Hall “Siberia”, the Forum participants were greeted by Chairman of the Altai Regional Legislative Assembly Alexander Romanenko and Deputy Chairman of the Government of Altai Krai Igor Stepanenko, who conveyed best wishes from Governor Viktor Tomenko.

Within the framework of the opening of the Festival, a solemn rewarding of Altai scientists took place. For example, Yuri Goncharov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of National History of the Institute of History and International Relations of Altai State University, was awarded an honorary diploma of the Altai Regional Legislative Assembly, and Tatyana Volkova, Head of the Department of General and Applied Psychology of the Institute of Humanities, Altai State University, received a letter of thanks from the ALCS.

The program of the Forum was completed by a popular science lecture by Roman Yakovlev, Professor of the Department of Ecology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology of Altai State University, dedicated to a story about the peculiarities of the work of an entomologist, the study of insects on expeditions and in museums.

“The Science Festival is an important event promoting the work of scientists. It is aimed at our future, at young people. It is important to understand that you can stay in Barnaul, live here, but at the same time do high-quality science on a global scale,” emphasized Roman Yakovlev.
