On October 13, Altai State University held a strategic session on export development in Altai Krai.

The organizer of the event was the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the region, which determined the main purpose of the session - to discuss approaches and proposals for the development of the program of Altai Krai for the export market development in the region.

When opening the session, Acting Minister of Economic Development of the region Anatoly Nagornov noted that one of the 13 national projects is International Cooperation and Export, for the implementation of which three regional projects have been developed in Altai Krai (Export of Agricultural Products, Industrial Export, and Systemic Measures for the Development of International Cooperation and Export), the regional export standard 2.0 is implemented, the export council works, the strategy of socio-economic development until 2035 has been approved, and a management team has been created.

The Ministry of Economic Development of the region actively cooperates with Altai State University, which participated in the expert discussion of the strategy for the socio-economic development of the region until 2035, and earlier, in 2019, within the framework of the national project "International cooperation and export," scientists from Altai State University conducted a study of target markets for the export of agricultural products.

“The last three years have shown that markets are changing dynamically. This is, first of all, evidenced by three factors that could not be taken into account back in 2019 - the pandemic of Covid-19, the change in energy markets leading to the reformatting of all export flows, and  digitalization, which completely has changed business schemes. Some companies have completely gone online and are expanding their sales markets there. In addition, the carbon footprint is now taken into account, threatening all exporters with a climate tax. Most exporters cannot solve all these problems on their own, so we all need to respond promptly to the changing economic reality, a joint discussion of the most efficient ways out of the emerging situations,” emphasized Rector of AltSU Sergei Bocharov. “Altai State University is always ready not only to provide its platform for solving urgent economic issues in the region, but also to take an active part in this process. So, at joint sessions like the one opened today at AltSU, commodity producers and exporters state problems to the representatives of the authorities, who, in turn, put forward initiatives to resolve them. The university, for its part, provides support in the training of highly qualified personnel, as well as conducting economic and analytical work on export markets. We, as a flagship university, have been supporting the vector for regional development."
