Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Omsk Kerim Kozhamberdiev paid an official visit to AltSU

On August 11, as part of an official visit to Altai Krai, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Omsk Kerim Kozhamberdiev visited Altai State University as one of the key universities successfully implementing joint projects with Kazakhstan.

This is the first visit to Altai Krai of a newly appointed head of the consular district. At the meeting, Rector of AltSU Sergey Bocharov and Consul General Kerim Kozhamberdiev discussed the prospects of cooperation.

It is worth noting that Altai State University is a scientific and expert-analytical center for supporting international and interregional integration processes.

During the meeting, AltSU Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development Roman Raikin informed Consul General Kerim Kozhamberdiev about cooperation projects between AltSU and Kazakh partners. In particular, he spoke about the fact that almost 1,100 citizens of Kazakhstan study at AltSU. Roman Raikin told about the projects of recent years, paying special attention to REC “The Greater Altai”, the largest integrated network project, which is part of 11 scientific and educational organizations in Kazakhstan. The Vice-Rector specially focused on the Association of Asian Universities, one of the most active international university associations, where universities from Kazakhstani are widely represented.

Rector Sergey Bocharov confirmed the intentions of Altai State University to further develop cooperation with Kazakhstan partners. He emphasized that Kazakhstan is a strategically important region for Altai Krai and asked the head of the diplomatic mission for assistance in developing university projects.

In turn, Kerim Kozhamberdiev promised help and assistance in joint projects. He noted the special contribution of Altai State University to bilateral cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan. The Consul considers it important to open branches of leading Russian universities in Kazakhstan, including AltSU.
