AltSU took part in the meeting of vice-rectors for international affairs of Russian universities on the basis of RUDN University

Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development Roman Raikin represented Altai State University at the meeting of vice-rectors for international affairs of Russian universities "Internationalization of Russian higher education: achievements and challenges," which was organized by RUDN with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The traditional annual event took place on November, 16 in person.

The speakers were heads and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council, the Federal Agency "Rossotrudnichestvo", ANO "Russia - the Land of Opportunities", Rosatom State Corporation, the Main Expert Center, the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, as well as Russian universities – flagships of international cooperation.

In his report “Formats and best practices of network interaction between universities of Russia and Central Asia”, Roman Raikin spoke about the experience of Altai State University in building cooperation with Central Asian partners within the framework of the Association of Asian Universities and the REC “The Greater Altai”, as well as with the results of the V International educational forum "Altai-Asia", held in September 2022 on the platform of Altai State University.

The Altai-Asia Forum was held jointly with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and became a platform for discussion by leading Russian and foreign experts of key issues in the development of international networking in the new conditions.

The results of the analytical work on compiling the Collection of the best international educational programs and practices recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for use by Russian universities were repeatedly noted in the course of discussions.

The following issues were also considered during the meeting:

• procedure for selecting foreign citizens and stateless persons for education within the quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation for the education of foreign citizens and stateless persons;

• system of selection and admission of foreign citizens to study in Russian educational institutions: problems and solutions;

• features of the admission campaign in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic;

• issues of entry of foreign citizens to study at Russian universities within the framework of the current algorithm for organizing work in relation to foreign students arriving in the Russian Federation for the purpose of studying in educational institutions of higher education and in professional educational organizations dated August 27, 2021 No. 18kv;

• optimization of the work of universities in a difficult epidemiological situation;

• migration legislation regarding the admission, training and stay of foreign citizens in the universities of the Russian Federation.
