Altai State University will enhance its cooperation with the Mongolian State University of Culture and Arts. The corresponding memorandum was signed in Ulan-Ude on July 4.

It is worth recalling that the inaugural Forum of Rectors of Russian and Mongolian Universities took place last week in the capital of Buryatia. Sergey Bocharov, Rector of Altai State University, participated in the event and delivered a report on the university’s scientific and educational collaboration with Mongolian partners on the first day.

Sergey Bocharov highlighted that the collaborative efforts between Altai and Mongolian scientists have been ongoing for 30 years. This cooperation has been thriving across various fields, including archaeology, ethnography, biology, tourism, religious studies, and others. The foundation for this partnership lies in agreements signed between Altai State University and the Mongolian National University along with its branches, as well as with the Institute of Archaeology and the Institute of Geography and Geology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.

Recently, a new agreement has been established. Altai State University and the Mongolian University of Culture and Arts have signed a memorandum endorsing a shared objective: the internationalization of higher education and mutually beneficial collaboration in educational activities.

To realize this goal, the universities plan to develop and implement student academic mobility programs, facilitate student exchanges for scientific projects, and promote the exchange of teachers and researchers for joint classes, additional training, and scientific research. They also intend to organize scientific seminars and symposia on topics of mutual interest.

The Russian delegation at the forum in Ulan-Ude was led by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Konstantin Mogilevsky. Meanwhile, Minister Valery Falkov, in his address to the forum participants, remarked:

“Russian President Vladimir Putin has identified strengthening friendly relations with Mongolia as a key priority of the country’s foreign policy. I am confident that this forum will inspire new projects and initiatives to enhance interuniversity cooperation between Russia and Mongolia.”

In total, 26 memorandums outlining future prospects were signed at the forum, including one between Altai State University and the Mongolian State University of Culture and Arts.
