The partner university of Altai State University, Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, obtained the international accreditation from the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) of Kazakhstan for 40 educational programs.

Among the programs that received independent accreditation is the dual-degree Master’s program offered by Altai State University: 09.04.03 Applied Informatics, with a profile "Digital technologies for data analysis for sustainable development of the regions of North and Central Asia", headed by Elena Ponkina, Head of the Department of Theoretical Cybernetics and Applied Mathematics.

In addition to the multiparameter verification of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, one key aspect of the Independent Agency’s assessment was the quality assurance system for education at Altai State University.

Based on the results of an independent evaluation of the dual-degree Master's program offered by Altai State University and S. Amanzholov Higher School of Economics, the high quality of student training was confirmed. This program is designed to develop specialists with an in-depth understanding of methods and techniques for collecting data from diverse sources, spatial analysis, mathematical modeling, and forecasting the dynamics of natural and socio-economic processes, with a particular focus on GIS technologies. Additionally, the curriculum includes training in the collection and processing of ground monitoring data, such as that from weather stations, lysimetric, and soil-hydrological stations, which has become increasingly relevant in various sectors, including agriculture and cargo transportation. The program also covers data acquisition from unmanned aerial vehicles.

"Successfully passing accreditation confirms that the programs meet contemporary international academic standards and labor market demands, while also fostering the development of an internal quality assurance system. This represents a significant step towards enhancing the university’s reputation and acknowledging the high quality of its graduate training within the national educational landscape. Currently, Altai State University holds international accreditation for 25 educational programs,” stated Evgeniya Zhdanova, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Altai State University.
