Students of the Department of Nature Management and Geoecology of the Institute of Geography of AltSU won gold medals in the International Student Online Olympiad Ecology and Environmental Protection

Students of the Department of Nature Management and Geoecology of the Institute of Geography of AltSU won the gold medals in the International Student Online Olympiad Ecology and Environmental Protection.

The Olympiad was held under the auspices of the Department of Management and Engineering in Environmental Protection of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan).

Three students of Altai State University by the results of the Olympiad were awarded First Degree Diplomas: Nikita Pochemin, Nikita Belousov, Andrey Reznikov.

The project of our students was dedicated to renewable energy sources in Altai Krai.

We can say that we provided an extended version of the article, which was written and translated into English together with Andrey Reznikov for the "Proceedings of young scientists of Altai State University" in 2020. The developments for the project were in out coursework. We pointed out the prospects of alternative energy development in the project, described the available resources on the gross, technical, and economic aspects, using a special methodology.

In general, the Olympiad aims to improve the quality of training of specialists and the formation of students' environmental outlook. It also develops the creative abilities of students, identifies and supports the talented young people for research and production activities, and strengthens the contacts between students and teachers of universities in Russia and Kazakhstan.

This contributes to the All-Russian target:
Ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services.
