Professor of Altai State University Svetlana Maksimova became a laureate of the national prize "Professor of the Year - 2021"

Svetlana Maksimova became the only winner of the prize in the category "Sociological Sciences."

The awarding ceremony of "Rector of the Year", "Professor of the Year", "Dean of the Year" took place within the framework of the Professors' Forum, which ended in Moscow on September 30. The purpose of the forum is an annual expert assessment of trends, changes, and reforms that are taking place in the system of Russian education and science. The event was timed to coincide with the 5th anniversary of the Russian Professors' Forum and was dedicated to the Year of Science and Technology. More than ten thousand professors and doctors of sciences from 82 regions of the country gathered at the forum. The participants discussed current scientific achievements and problems, determined the priority tasks of the development of science and education, the role of the scientific and educational elite of Russia in their implementation.

Vladislav Grib, Chairman of the Russian Professors' Forum, organizer of the "Professors’ Forum - 2021" noted:

“Rector of the Year, Dean of the Year, and Professor of the Year are the first awards in the history of Russia, when the professorial community - the scientific elite of Russia - gives an independent public assessment to rectors, deans, and professors. These awards are personal; we evaluated the contribution of rectors, deans, and professors in a comprehensive manner using a set of criteria. And it was not specific universities that were assessed, but the personality of their leaders and scientists. The professors are assessed by their personal contribution to the development of the scientific school of the department. These are textbooks, monographs, scientific indexes, interesting publications, articles, an influence as an expert. I am sure that the assessment of the professorial community is often no less important than the assessment of the departments.”
