United Russia: Natalia Kuvshinova checked the organization of training at Altai State University during the pandemic

According to the parliamentarian, the visit to AltSU was conditioned by publications in the media about alleged violations of sanitary rules during the pandemic. A conversation with the Rector, as well as a tour of the buildings and classrooms, showed the opposite - they fulfill all the sanitary requirements at the university.

“Today, more than ever, it is important to organize the process of acquiring knowledge in such a way that it does not harm the life and health of students and teachers. Together with Sergei Bocharov, we visited classrooms where laboratory classes are held, which are not possible to conduct remotely, we looked at how the educational process is organized, whether all the requirements have been met,'' said Natalya Kuvshinova. “For myself, I noted that everyone who met me in the corridors, and especially in the university lecture halls, was wearing a mask, and at the entrance the security officer measured the temperature with a non-contact device and offered to treat their hands."

The university notes that, today, all the requirements imposed by Rospotrebnadzor for the organization of training are  met. And the information published in a number of Altai mass media is called far-fetched.

“Temperature control by measuring devices is carried out in accordance with the rules. Also, we fully comply with the regime for ensuring sanitary and epidemiological safety, the intersection of different groups is not allowed, the university conducts only those classes that cannot be carried out in a high-quality way in a distance form. If a student with a confirmed coronavirus appears in a group, or more than 20% of students suffer from ARVI, such a group is transferred to the distance learning mode for 14 days. To date, 30 groups are studying remotely,” said Sergey Bocharov.

He added that the information published in mass media is partly fictitious, and the facts from the anonymous letter referred to by the authors of the publications is not consistent with reality.

“For example, the accusation that sanitization is not performed at the university is based on the fact that there is no smell of bleach here. But modern disinfectants are not based on chlorine and cannot smell like chlorine,” said the Rector.

Summing up the results of the meeting, the deputy and the leadership of the university appealed to the students to address all emerging questions openly to the administration of the university, or to the deputy's reception, but to the media with carefully checked facts.
