The official network resource of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation published about the project of young scientists from the Faculty of Geography of Altai State University.

It will soon be possible to get acquainted with new options for eco-tourism and volunteer projects in the only reserve in Altai Krai in the thematic section on the site tigirek.ru. The geographers of Altai State University plan to complete work on the section in January. In addition, before the end of the winter, an interactive map of this specially protected area, also created at the Faculty of Geography at Altai State University, will appear on the Tigirek Nature Reserve website.

In 2019, on the territory of the Tigirek Nature Reserve, with the participation of volunteers, a new 80-km educational eco-route by Eric Laxman was laid with route name plates and information signs. Within the framework of the project, information stands with QR codes were installed near several natural objects of the reserve. They will help volunteers and tourists not only navigate the terrain, but also get information about Mount Shlyapnaya, the Silur Tigirek Cross-section, the stopping place of the Virgin and the reserve cordon.

As part of the project on information support for the educational activities of the Tigirek Reserve, in 2019, a movie trailer about Tigirek was also shot and its interactive map was created. Until the end of February, they will appear in a new section on environmental tourism on tigirek.ru. The map, developed using geographic information technologies, shows the boundaries of the reserve and the protected zone; the main natural tourist sites, eco-routes and parking lots for tourists are indicated and briefly described. The new information product will make protected areas more open and understandable for society and tourists.

The project “Creating informational support for the educational activities of the Tigirek Reserve” is being implemented by the Geography Department of AltSU with funds from a grant support from the Federal Agency “Rosmolodezh”. The project manager is Ulyana Motovilova, a second-year undergraduate student at the Geography Department of AltSU.
