On April 13, a leading researcher of the REC "The Greater Altai", Head of the Department of Oriental Studies of Altai State University, Professor Yulia Lysenko met with the administration of the International Turkic Academy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Turkic Academy is represented by Vice-President Fizuli Majidli and senior expert Timur Kozyrev.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for scientific cooperation between Turkic Academy and the Scientific and Educational Center for Turkology and Altaic Studies "The Greater Altai" of Altai State University. They exchanged information about their research projects and main areas of work. Yulia Lysenko got acquainted with the Turkic Museum and the book collection of the Academy. At the end of the meeting, the guest was presented with the Atlas of Ancient Turkic written monuments of the Altai Republic, published by Turkic Academy.

The development of scientific cooperation with the academic community of the Russian Federation is one of the main activities of International Turkic Academy, according to its website.

The research center "International Turkic Academy" began its work in 2010. It was established by four Turkic-speaking states - Kazakhstan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. The purpose of the work of International Turkic Academy is to coordinate and promote scientific research on the history of the Turkic world, the study of the Turkic language and literature, culture, as well as the study of the general Turkic world based on the discovery of unique sources and the identification of the role and place of the Turkic states in the world space.
