Experts of the Law Institute run their own platform at the meeting of pedagogical teams

28 February 2020 Institute of Law

From February 02 to 23, a meeting of student pedagogical and school counselors teams was held, which brought together the most caring, active and enthusiastic participants!

The event was attended by schoolchildren and students, members of pedagogical and counselor teams, who, after a while, will work as counselors with children of different ages in health and sports camps in Siberia - about 200 people. For 3 days, the guys underwent trainings, listened to lectures and solved cases, and also participated in cultural and creative events. The skills and knowledge that future counselors received at these events will help them in the future, when working with children: how to unite a team, how to organize an event, what to do in case of an emergency situation - experts and organizers of the meeting told the participants about all this.

Experts of the platform "Legal basis for the activity of a counselor" were undergraduates of the Law Institute of the Department of Civil Law and the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology Nikita Chibisov and Georgy Dzhikhvadze. They told the participants of the meeting about the legal status of the counselor, the status of minors in Russian law, as well as the civil, disciplinary, administrative and criminal liability that counselors can incur if they fail to fulfill their duties, violate prohibitions and the norms of current legislation. The seminar was held in an accessible and fascinating manner: lawyers cited many examples from judicial practice in various branches of law, which concerned the activities of a counselor, educator, or an organization that supervises children in general.

The participants positively assessed the activities of Georgy and Nikita, noting an interesting format of the legal platform, as well as topical issues that were raised during the work.

The experts themselves also highly appreciated the event as a whole and are ready to share their impressions:

Georgy:
- I believe that the best way to counteract all kinds of offenses and crimes is to prevent such actions. In addition to general legal information, we told young citizens about very sad and instructive cases of crimes (or other illegal actions) committed by counselors or other persons in relation to children in camps and similar organizations. And an eloquent story about such cases is the best prevention. My colleague and I hope that it will be effective, and future counselors will be extremely responsible when working with children.

Nikita:
-It is extremely important in today's reality to focus on the comprehensive development of youth. Especially for that category of it, which is aimed at working with children in the near future.
Therefore, this event is very important, it is a good tradition.

The guys received valuable knowledge and skills. On the part of the head of the educational platform, I note the keen interest of young counselors in the legal nuances of counselors' activities, especially in terms of the presence / absence of the occurrence of tort obligations.

On our platform, the classes were held in the format of a dialogue as close as possible to a confidential conversation "in a simple way about difficult things", which caused genuine interest and a lively discussion on a number of issues. In general, the event should be characterized as "transfer of accumulated knowledge and experience" coupled with some humor and the absence of any barriers between lecturers and students.
