AltSU successfully passed the international external examination of educational programs

On November 27, at Altai State University, the expert commission of the National Center for Professional and Public Accreditation to check the educational programs of the International Institute of Economics, Management and Information Systems, the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies and the Rubtsovsk Institute (branch) of Altai State University completed its work.

From November 24 to November 27, an international professional and public accreditation with the use of distance technologies of the Applied Informatics cluster of educational programs (11 educational programs of bachelor's and master's degrees with different training profiles) was held at the flagship university of Altai Krai.

The external expert commission included: the coordinator of the expert commission from the National Center for Professional and Public Accreditation P.A. Korotkov, Chairman of the Commission, Director of the Department for Academic Affairs of the International University of Information Technologies A.K. Mustafina (Kazakhstan, Almaty), Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Head of the Department of Secure Communication Systems, St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications named after prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruevich A.V. Krasov, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Karaganda University named after E.A. Buketov E.A. Spirina (Kazakhstan, Karaganda), representative of the professional community, Deputy Director for Information Technologies of Altai Institute of Digital Technologies and Assessment of the Quality of Education N.А. Britseva, representative of the student community A.A. Korol (Russia, Lipetsk).

The external expert commission, which included representatives of the academic, professional and student communities, got acquainted with the infrastructure of Altai State University, held online meetings with the administrative and managerial staff of the university, directors of institutes, heads of graduate departments, students and alumni of educational programs, as well as representatives of business industries in the field of IT. In addition, much time of the commission's work was devoted to the consideration of documents and materials of the university and institutes in all areas of the university's activities (from the development and implementation of programs to the process of graduation and employment of graduates), as well as materials confirming the quality of education in general.

Summing up the results of the four-day work, the experts conducted a multidimensional in-depth analysis of the implementation of the Applied Informatics cluster of educational programs and pointed out the positive aspects, and also noted those areas that require improvement. In general, the commission indicated that today Altai State University remains the leader in terms of the scope of training in this area, producing qualified specialists in demand on the labor market, both in the region and far beyond its borders.

“Altai State University pursues a purposeful policy to improve the quality of education, we understand that we are working in a global environment and the more external assessments we get, the more objectively the level of education of our university will be assessed”, said Rector of Altai State University Sergey Bocharov. “Last year, 6 educational programs underwent the international accreditation procedure, this year - 11”.

The Rector also noted the good organization of the work of the commission and praised the professionalism of the experts.

At the final meeting, Coordinator from the National Accredited Center, Petr Korotkov noted that Altai State University pursues a balanced policy of positioning and developing a flagship university, and, despite being a regional university, it is rightfully included in the top league of the national aggregated ranking TOP-25 due to its achievements.

Chairman of the commission Akkyz Mustafina expressed gratitude to the administrative and managerial staff of the university and institutes for the excellent organization of the commission's online visit and the openness of the university, which made it possible to fully comply with all regulatory requirements for the accreditation procedure. She also noted that during the online meetings, the professional community of employers in the field of IT and graduates of Altai State University highly appreciated the training of specialists in applied informatics, so the institutes, teachers and students have something to be proud of.

The final meeting with the expert commission of the National Center for Professional and Public Accreditation ended with awarding directors of IMIT, IIEMIS and the Rubtsovsk Institute (branch) of AltSU (E. V. Zhuravlev, S.I. Mezhov, and D.P.Reva) with electronic certificates of international external examination of educational programs.
