Russian IT vendor Postgres Professional started working with AltSU students

Rearing highly qualified specialists in the field of DBMS at universities is necessary for reviving the domestic DBMS industry. That is why the company actively cooperates with the country's universities, providing them with courses that build competencies that are in demand in the IT market.

In the spring semester of this year, bachelors of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies at AltSU took the company’s courses - "Language SQL" and "Fundamentals of Database Technologies", which were previously available only to students of the capitals' universities.

Over one hundred IMIT students attended these courses, given by AltSU’s faculty, who were trained and passed exams to the authors-developers of the courses. Some of the students also completed an experimental course by the company “English for Postgres Pro Database Technical Support.”

Students who attended the courses and successfully completed the tests received certificates of completion for each of the courses. The best of them were interviewed by the company's specialists, and their success and diligence were marked with memorable gifts from the company.

Postgres Professional, introducing students to the DBMS, opens up an opportunity for IMIT bachelors to start a career in Open Source.

The Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies of Altai State University and Postgres Professional plan to continue cooperation in the next academic year to train students, some of whom will eventually be able to join the ranks of the company's developers and engineers.
