Altai State University summed up the results of the I International Youth Forum "Russia and the Turkic World: the View of the Youth of the Greater Altai Countries"

The I International Youth Forum "Russia and the Turkic World: the View of the Youth of the Greater Altai Countries" finished its work at the flagship Altai State University.

The forum was organized by the Scientific and Educational Center of Altaic and Turkic Studies "The Greater Altai" and Altai State University with the support of the Association of Asian Universities.

On the first day of the forum, two events took place at once: the 1st International Youth Forum "Russia and the Turkic World: the View of the Youth of the Greater Altai Countries" and the International Scientific Conference "Industrial Construction in Central Asia: Historical Significance for the Region", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the opening of the Turkestan-Siberian railway.

On October 30, on the second day of the forum, lectures by leading Turkologists and Altaists for young researchers were held. The speakers were Yulia Lysenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Altai State University, with the lecture: "Policy of the Russian Empire in relation to the Turkic-Muslim peoples" and Nadezhda Tadina, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of GASU (Altai Republic, Gorno-Altaysk) "Scientific directions and results of the activities of the scientific laboratory of ethnographic research at GAGU".

During the scientific session, the participants, both online and offline, took part in the discussion of reports by young researchers from Altai State University (Barnaul), Gorno-Altai State University (Gorno-Altaysk, Altai Republic), S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University (Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan), Tomsk State University (Tomsk), Omsk State University (Omsk), the Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn (Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic).

The reports covered the problems of preserving the Altai language, the influence of political parties on ethno-political processes in Khakassia, the problems of preserving the heritage of the Turkic world, issues of national identity, and cultural and humanitarian relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. All speakers were warmly received by the audience, with a lively discussion on the issues covered.

At the end of the I International Youth Forum "Russia and the Turkic World: the View of the Youth of the Greater Altai Countries adopted a resolution and regulations on the International School of Young Scientists - Turkologists, Altaists, Mongolologists. They approved the work plan of the School for 2021, and decided to hold the II International Youth Forum in September 2021.

The Council of Young Scientists was selected, which included representatives of various universities and states: Russia, Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic. All participants unanimously agreed that the establishment of the School of Young Scientists - Turkologists, Altaiists and Mongolologists is an important step in the integration of the youth scientific community of Russia and the CIS countries, with their research related to the study of various aspects of the development of the Turkic historical and cultural community, the development of Turkic-Slavic interaction, and the living conditions of the peoples of the Turkic world in the XXI century.

The proceedings of works by young scientists-turkologists have been published, indexed by the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).
