On April 22, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly together with the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots held a large online round table "The Age of Eurasia: Conscious Partnership of Peoples".

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly was created with the aim of forming an integration model of a large Eurasian partnership at the public level, expanding and deepening contacts between peoples. It is intended to be a platform for uniting the efforts of non-governmental organizations and business communities in the development of integration processes, the approval of peacemaking ideas and the strengthening of good-neighborly and business relations.

Famous ethnographers, cultural figures, representatives of the university community, members of public organizations of Eurasia countries took part in the round table "The Age of Eurasia: Conscious Partnership of Peoples". The purpose of the round table is to form a single Eurasian spiritual and cultural space, update and prepare the International Altai Forum. The Altai Forum will unite the peoples of Eurasia around integration projects for the purpose of mutual understanding and strengthening intercultural economic ties, will serve to expand a conscious and mutually beneficial partnership.

As the organizers note, the preparation of such an important event was impossible without the participation of the flagship university of Altai Krai. After all, it is Altai State University that has been carrying out major scientific projects for many years, holding international events in altaistics.

Ivan Belekov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, member of the Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Kanat Sadykov, Rector of the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, also spoke. Among the experts, President of Altai State University, Doctor of Law Sergey Zemlyukov made a report at the round table.

Sergey Zemlyukov presented the results of the International Altaistic Forum "Turkic-Mongolian World of the Greater Altai: Historical and Cultural Heritage and Modernity", which is held at the initiative of our university and brings together the leading scientific schools and expert groups of Russia and Central Asia in the study of Altaic and Turkic studies.

The I International Altaistic Forum "Turkic-Mongolian World of the Greater Altai: Historical and Cultural Heritage and Modernity" was held in September 2019. More than 150 experts from universities, scientific and public organizations of Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Japan took part in it. The key event of the forum was the signing of an agreement by the rectors of Altai State University and Gorno-Altai State University on the creation of the Scientific and Educational Center for Altaistics "The Greater Altai", which today successfully implements major projects in the field of national and state-confessional policy aimed at preventing the spread of extremist ideologies ensuring security in the Central Asian region, development of Altaic studies, and support of young scholars of Turkic studies.

Sergey Zemlyukov explains:

- Within the framework of the round table, we shared our experience in implementing international and interdisciplinary projects that contribute to strengthening intercultural and economic ties, expanding a conscious and mutually beneficial partnership between countries. The project "Turkic-Mongolian World of the Greater Altai: Historical and Cultural Heritage and Modernity" is a logical continuation of all the great work that Altai State University has been doing in the Asian educational space for many years. Our university initiated the creation of the Association of Asian Universities, which now includes more than 100 leading universities in Asia. We entered the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University. The role of Altai State University in strengthening the SCO University was repeatedly highly appreciated by the participants of the SCO Education Week. For the second year already, our research and educational center "The Greater  Altai" has received financial support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, we are actively developing large international research projects, developing international network educational programs. I am sure that our experience will be useful in solving the problems of strengthening the historical and cultural ties of the Eurasian peoples.

As the organizers explain, today the phenomenal socio-cultural synthesis of the traditions and integration of the peoples of Eurasia turns the continent into a kind of spiritual center over a vast territory, in connection with which the reliance on the common ethnocultural roots of the Eurasian peoples is increasing. Proceeding from this, there is a need to form a conceptually new and extremely promising civilizational and communicative channel of interaction within the Eurasian space, one of the key instruments of which should be considered the International Altaistic Forum.
