The Institute of Arts and Design of Altai State University, within the framework of the Strategic Development Program of the flagship Altai State University, is successfully implementing the project "Center for Continuing Art Education", a feature of which is a many-stage education system in the field of creative industries.

Since the beginning of 2016, the Center for Continuing Art Education has been implementing a line of continuing education programs in the form of advanced training courses and professional retraining programs. To organize effective work, modern approaches to the development of the content and structure of programs were used, which made it possible to expand the circle of potential listeners, adapting the programs to a specific audience of specialists, taking into account their individual characteristics and initial level of education.

One of the topical areas of the Center's activities in the field of continuing education is the promotion of educational services developed by the Center's specialists for continuing education programs in the international market, among which advanced training programs in the areas of "Art History" and "Musical Art" have become especially in demand.

So, in 2021, Italian citizen Daniel Lanza became a student of the professional retraining program "Art Criticism" (Head of the program, Candidate of Art Criticism, Associate Professor I. Chernyaeva). As part of the academic mobility program, he teaches at the Department of Romance Philology at Astrakhan State University.

“I was interested in the program of the Institute of Arts and Design of Altai State University, since I, as Candidate of Cultural Studies, strive to constantly expand and improve my professional competencies, and the Art History program is exactly what I need today. I hope that upon graduation, our interaction with the Institute of Arts and Design will continue and develop into new productive areas of cooperation,” said Daniel Lanza.

In 2021, among specialists from Kazakhstan, the program for advanced training of the Institute of Arts and Design "Modern problems in the methodology and practice of instrumental performance" (Head of the program, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor O. Mikhailova) became popular. More than 50 listeners, including teachers of the Kazakh National University of Arts and music faculties of Russian universities, began their distance learning classes.

“The Institute of Arts and Design in the educational policy of continuing education is focused on competitiveness and the implementation of new programs that meet the needs of employers. Therefore, the Center for Continuing Arts Education is constantly improving its educational tools and creating new educational products. So, for example, now we are actively working with a wide target audience in the international market of educational services in Kazakhstan," said Acting Director of the Humanitarian Institute of Altai State University, Doctor of Arts, Professor Larisa Nekhvyadovich.

The Center for Continuing Art Education of the Institute of Arts and Design of AltSU plans to further develop the direction of international cooperation, strengthening partnerships with universities in Central Asia on the creation of new joint additional vocational programs, which will take into account the use of online technologies.
