The newspaper "Altaiskaya Pravda" wrote that a regional branch of the All-Russian Volunteer Youth Movement "Volunteer Company of Combat Brotherhood" was created at Altai State University on the basis of the Department of General and Applied Psychology of the Institute of Humanities.

Volunteers in the squad plan to preserve the historical memory among young people, help veterans of the Great Patriotic War, local conflicts in Afghanistan and Chechnya, as well as relatives of the dead soldiers, if they find themselves in a difficult life situation.

The idea of creating such an association has been in the air for a long time. Members of the squad are students of the direction Psychology of Service Activities. This is a psychological support for specialists working in law enforcement agencies.

“Thanks to the volunteer movement, students will be able to practice with real people, participants in military events and help them in their rehabilitation,” says Marina Shamardina, curator of the educational and patriotic work of the squad. “This experience will help prepare our students for better work.”

The “Combat Brotherhood” supported the idea, and a squad was created by joint efforts. So far, 15 people have joined the movement, all of them are first-year students. But anyone can join the association.

Volunteers are led by Ksenia Mironenko, student of Altai State University.

She says that she has always wanted to do useful work, so when they announced the recruitment to the squad, she agreed without hesitation.

“The current generation is forgetting history, which is bad. The other day there was a memorable date - the Day of withdrawal of the Soviet forces from Afghanistan, most of the guys have no idea about it. I believe that the activities of our squad will help the younger ones plunge into history and become true patriots of their country,” says Ksenia.

Vyacheslav Kravchenko, Head of the Altai regional branch of the "Combat Brotherhood", notes that young people are the main strength of the country, its main strategic and personnel resource. The future of the country depends on what the youth will be like.

“In the work of volunteers, we will pay special attention to one of the areas - the patriotic education of the younger generation,” notes Vyacheslav Kravchenko. “And, of course, a volunteer of our movement is always ready to give a helping hand if trouble happens or support is needed. Where volunteers are needed, we will always respond and help."

This is evidenced by the motto of the organization: "Everyone has the right to ask for help, and we are obliged to help."

In addition, another form of work is planned - with children from military families. Students in the summer will work as counselors in the camp, hold events and trainings with the guys.

“In order to move on to significant matters and perform some task, you need to look into the future, feel and understand what it takes to achieve this,” says Vyacheslav Kravchenko.
