Professor of the Department of Ecology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology of Altai State University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Roman Yakovlev received an offer from the editor-in-chief of Ecologica Montenegrina to participate in the editorial work of this publication, which is included in the third quartile of Scopus.

The main focus of the Montenegrin environmental magazine is publication of works in the field of biodiversity of the planet. Ecologica Montenegrina is an actively developing scientific publication. When recalculating the scientometric indicators of scientific journals on June 10, 2020, Ecologica Montenegrina raised its status to Q2. Another AltSU entomologist, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Anton Volynkin is also a member of the editorial group of the journal.

“It's nice to work with colleagues to develop this dynamic publication. In addition to biodiversity experts from various European countries, the editorial board includes scientists from New Zealand, Iran, the USA, Chile and Argentina. The growth of the scientometric indicators of the journal is primarily due to the highest quality standards for incoming manuscripts”, comments Roman Yakovlev.

“Recently, I often hear colleagues complaining that the impact factor and quartile are rapidly falling in the journals where they publish their results. Yesterday, my colleagues and I carefully studied the pool of journals where our scientific group usually publish: Zootaxa, ZooKeys, SHILAP, Russian Entomological Journal, Far East Entomologist, Arthropoda Selecta - all these journals retained their quartile or increased it”, said the AltSU scientist.

Professor Yakovlev also emphasized that the experience gained in working with Ecologica Montenegrina journal will be used in the work on Altai State University journal Acta Biologica Sibirica.

“Our task is to create an impeccable publication - the best in the country on our subject”, Roman Yakovlev concluded.
