Acting Head of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk T.Yu. Rakhmanov visited Altai State University
According to the established tradition, Altai State University, as the flagship university of Altai Krai, hosts the heads of the consulates general of foreign states, to inform about the international cooperation of the university and its work to increase the number of foreign students, in order to develop research activities in conjunction with Central Asian universities and research centers.
These topics were also touched upon today at the meeting with T.Yu. Rakhmanov at Altai State University. The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for the Development of International Affairs Roman Raikin, Head of the Department of International Affairs of Altai State University Mikhail Domukhovsky, Representative of the Agency for External Labor Migration (AELM) of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk Sherzodjon Polvonov, and Third Secretary of the Foreign Office in Barnaul Margarita Ardyakova.
“We told Mr. Rakhmanov about the work of AltSU within the framework of the Association of Asian Universities, which today includes four universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Termez State University, Samarkand State University, Bukhara State University and Termez branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy. We talked about a large project of Altai State University, dedicated to the study of the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of the Turkic-Mongolian world, about international events organized by our university, including international educational student forums, schools of young leaders and young scientists, organized together with Rossotrudnichestvo, in which representatives of Uzbekistan invariably take part,” said Roman Raikin.
The result of the meeting was an agreement between Altai State University and the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk on cooperation to develop scientific and educational cooperation between Altai Krai and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In particular, the parties discussed the possibility of a visit of the delegation of Altai State University to Tashkent to discuss specific areas of cooperation.
