On March 18, a two-day scientific and educational session of the International School of Young Scientists - Turkologists and Altaists began its work at Altai State University.

About 100 undergraduates, postgraduates and young Turkologists representing educational institutions and organizations of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Hungary submitted applications for participation in the spring session as listeners.

“This is the second meeting of young researchers from different countries of the world, organized within the framework of the Scientific and Educational Center of Altaic and Turkic Studies “The Greater Altai” of Altai State University. The experience we gained in 2020 at the first session of the School of Young Türkologists and Altaists and the first international youth forum showed the relevance of the organized events and the great interest of young researchers to unite in solving the problems they face,” emphasized President of Altai State University Sergey Zemlyukov.

Sergey Zemlyukov also added that the geography of the participants in the scientific and educational session of the School of Young Turkologists and Altaists is gradually expanding, uniting higher educational institutions and scientific schools of almost all countries of the Greater Altai and Central Asia.

“It is no coincidence that Altai State University initiated a scientific session for young researchers, since the flagship university, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, has been implementing a network project of leading universities in Russia and Central Asian countries for the educational center "The Greater Altai". And this is one of the many projects that our university is implementing in this area, where the second Altaistic Forum, scheduled for September 2021, will be the most significant. I am sure that the spring session of the School of Young Turkologists and Altaists will serve an important goal - to consolidate the views and positions of young and accomplished scientists and experts exploring the topics of integration and interaction of the peoples of Russia and other states,” said Sergei Bocharov, Rector of Altai State University.

Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of History, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Krivoshapkin addressed the young scientists and greeted them on behalf of Anatoly Derevyanko, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of History, Professor of Altai State University:

“The participation of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the SB RAS in today's session can be called consistent, since we have developed scientific and friendly relations with all researchers of the Greater Altai regions. And such events as the spring session of the School of Young Turkologists and Altaists, which is opening at Altai State University, help to coordinate our joint work. The good news is that this initiative of colleagues from Altai State University received a huge response from young researchers and it certainly has a great future."

The program of the scientific and educational session includes 9 lectures by leading experts - scientists from Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, on topical issues of the development of the Turkic-Mongolian world, archeology of the Turkic period, ethnography and history of the Turkic peoples. On the first day of the session, 4 topics were presented online by the speakers:
