On September 24, III International Biotechnology Symposium "Bio-Asia Altai 2021", organized within the framework of the International Forum "Biotechnology: Science, Education, Industry" under the auspices of the Year of Science and Technology, started work at Altai State University.

One of the priorities of Altai State University is the development of scientific research in the field of biotechnology, therefore, for the third time, it organizes a biotechnological symposium on its platform, which brought together scientists from different regions of Russia and foreign countries working in this scientific field.

“This year, for the first time, our symposium became part of the international biotechnological forum, organized jointly with the Government of Altai Krai,” noted Alexander Dunets, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of Altai State University, at the opening ceremony of "Bio-Asia Altai 2021." “A feature of the symposium is that several scientific schools are held within its framework, where young scientists develop new competencies in various fields of biotechnology and receive additional qualifications. In general, "Bio-Asia Altai 2021" works on several tracks, considering topical issues related to sustainable bioeconomy and the commercialization of scientific developments, education in biotechnology and attracting talented young scientists, biopharmacy and personalized medicine, plant biotechnology, chemical industry, and food products. In each of the tracks, the country's leading experts participate in the program aimed at obtaining practical results."

The opening of the symposium was preceded by an exhibition of research developments and biotechnological products of scientific teams of the flagship university of Altai Krai, located in the foyer of AltSU’s concert hall: microbiological preparations for agriculture, innovative biological products and technologies for agro-industrial complex, healthy planting material based on the method of clonal micropropagation of plants in vitro as well as developments in the field of personalized nutrition.

“The symposium is a platform to exchange experience in the field of education and science, discuss issues of cooperation with leading scientists from other regions and countries, which will further develop into the development of technologies and products. In order to commercialize our projects, representatives of business and government have been invited to the symposium so that our cooperation will bring real results for the benefit of Altai Krai,” said A.
