Famous Russian and American astrophysicist delivers open lecture at Altai State University
Organized within the framework of the 26th Extended European Cosmic Ray Symposium (ECRS) and the 35th Russian Cosmic Ray Conference (RCRC), the lecture will be devoted to the current state of research in the field of high-energy astrophysics.
In addition, on July 7, Igor V. Moskalenko will make a presentation on "GALPROP Code for Galactic Cosmic Ray Propagation and Associated Photon Emissions".
Igor V. Moskalenko is the world's leading expert in the astrophysics of cosmic rays and associated diffuse radiation, the author of more than 280 papers, his Hirsch index is 82. The GALPROP model created by Igor Moskalenko together with Andrew Strong from the Max Planck Institute is currently the standard model, used by many research groups of astrophysicists. The key concept underlying the GALPROP code is the idea that different types of data, such as direct measurements of cosmic rays, including primary and secondary nuclei, electrons and positrons, gamma rays, etc., are associated with the same astrophysical components of the Galaxy and, as a consequence, should be described self-consistently. The GALPROP model provides a single platform for interpreting data on the life of the Galaxy, collected by various types of experiments.
