1 April 2020 International Affairs Department

Despite the complication of the epidemiological situation in the world, which entailed the postponement of international events held in person, the cancellation of business trips and other measures, Altai State University continues to implement international cooperation programs, using all possible means of teleworking and remote contacts.

The International Affairs Department informs that all academic and student exchange programs, summer schools, joint expeditions, and other programs and events planned for 2020 will take place as soon as the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is left behind and the safety of participants is guaranteed. We are working with foreign partner universities to coordinate efforts in this direction.

In particular, today the University received a letter from Mr. Yoshio Otani, Vice President (International Affairs) of Kanazawa University (Japan), confirming the intention to maintain exchange programs with Altai State University:

"The close partnership with Altai State University is a source of great pride for Kanazawa University. We look forward to the continuing and fruitful ties of collaboration  exchanges. Furthermore, we are certain that our exchanges will contribute to the friendship between Russia and Japan. We very much appreciate your assistance and coordination, and hope to resume the exchange program soon".

Altai State University expresses its sincere gratitude to Kanazawa University and other partner universities, including universities - members of the Association of Asian Universities and the University of Shanghai Cooperation Organization for the joint efforts. We are confident that together we will succeed not only in preserving, but also developing international cooperation programs in the current difficult conditions.
