On a holiday weekend, that is, June 13, the theater workshop of Altai State University Homo Artisticus will present a unique performance called The Network to the audience.

Despite its considerable experience in various kinds of theatrical experiments, this is the first time that Homo Artisticus is preparing a performance in this format. This will be, perhaps, the first play in the history of the theatrical art of Altai Krai, the action of which will take place simultaneously on sites remote from each other and at the same time brought together into a single whole with the help of the zoom platform.

“Within the framework of the large project Creative Remote, we used various forms of attracting our students, staff and teachers, as well as all interested parties, to an active and creative process. These included daily exercises, live broadcasts with interesting people, and online concerts. But we are in constant search of new implementation options, so we are not afraid to experiment”, emphasizes Alexander Korobkov, Director of the Center for Creativity and Leisure of Students and Employees of Altai State University. “We will show the play The Network, which is not recorded, as most theater groups are doing now, and the guys will play it live. In addition, the literary material underlying the performance is pure drama; a genre that Homo Artisticus has not yet addressed. We hope that we will be able to implement this project with high quality!"

The play is based on Jean Cocteau's play The Human Voice, a dramatic narrative consisting of a telephone conversation between former lovers.

The Network play will mark the closing of the theatrical season of Homo Artisticus. And since we all found ourselves in a situation of remote communication, it was decided to create a performance, as they say, in the scenery of our actors' apartments with partial recording of some scenes. But I will not disclose all the details of the technical creation of the performance, because the main thing is not this, but the narration itself, the very drama of human relations, which we will try to modernize by transferring it into the format of online meetings”, explained Kirill Skobelin, Head of the theater workshop.

During the celebration of the Youth Day, June 27, the recording of the performance will be uploaded in all official sources of the Center for Education and Science.
