Foreign students of Altai State University took part in the literary and musical program "Friendship of peoples makes us stronger”

On May 9, foreign students of Altai State University performed on the central square of Novoaltaisk town, taking part in the literary and musical program "Friendship of peoples makes us stronger”, dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

The creative project with the participation of an international team was implemented on the initiative of Rimma Elemanova, a specialist of the Department of International Affairs of Altai State University, and Head of the Department of Mass Communications of the Central City Library named after L.Merzlikin, Novoaltaisk, Nadezhda Voitsekhovskaya.

“The patriotic event dedicated to the Victory Day with the participation of foreign students became one of the stages of the program to strengthen friendship between the peoples and countries of the multinational Greater Altai, which confirms its name - "Friendship of peoples makes us stronger,” says R. Elemanova. “Each participant of the program really put their souls into the program, thereby supporting the memory of their ancestors who went through the difficult years of the Great Patriotic War. This is the first literary and musical program with the participation of foreign students of Altai State University of this scale, which was implemented at a professional level. Talented, active, creative and successful in studies foreign students of Altai State University performed musical and poetic numbers of the war years in Russian, using vivid images. It was a great honor for each of them to take part in the project dedicated to the Victory Day, since their grandfathers fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, and their grandmothers heroically worked in the rear, bringing Victory closer."

In the program "Friendship of peoples makes us stronger”, student from China Chen Isu sang songs "Katyusha" and "Eh, roads", Hafizod Parvizi from Tajikistan performed "Moscow evenings" and "The last fight", Sabyrbekova Aigul and Galiaskarov Rustam from Kyrgyzstan - "Cranes", a girls’ band "Avaza" from Turkmenistan - "About that spring", Rimma Elemanova the famous song "Hope", and Ermakov Andrey - "Victory Day." The program was complemented by Tatiana Kostenko’s colorful dancing numbers - Uzbek and Georgian, Turkmen dance "Spring" performed by the band "Avaza" from Altai State Pedagogical University. Osman Hafso Mohamed from Somalia emotionally read the poem "Let there be peace!", and Daniel Kurmankulov read the poem "We Remember."

Foreign students of Altai State University, after a solemn meeting-requiem dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the Great Victory, laid flowers at the memorial on the central square of Novoaltaisk town in memory of the heroes perished during the Great Patriotic War.

“We express our gratitude to all foreign students of Altai State University, Altai State Pedagogical University and the teams of international departments of two universities, all employees of the Central City Library named after L.S. Merzlikin, Novoaltaisk, the Committee for Culture of the Administration of Novoaltaisk and everyone who supported our project. We also say our sincere thanks to all the participants and heroes of the Great Patriotic War! Thank you for the victory!",  summed up Rimma Elemanova.
