Acta Biologica Sibirica, a peer-reviewed journal of Altai State University, following an open access policy, signed a cooperation agreement with Pensoft and moved to the ARPHA publishing platform.

Since 2015, the journal has published articles on original research in the field of experimental and field biology, following all the standards of modern biological research. The first articles published in 2020 are now available online on the new user-friendly site of the ARPHA publishing platform.

ARPHA's original publishing system allows Acta Biologica Sibirica to publish studies, reviews, brief communications, letters and discussion papers, book reviews, and memorial articles. The platform is designed to control the writing, submission of the manuscript by the author and review, as a single process, which also includes the publication of data and multimedia files in a high-tech form that facilitates the search visibility of the article for both humans and automated machine tools.

Acta Biologica Sibirica accepts for publication works in the field of taxonomy, phylogenetics, biogeography, faunistics, floristry, biological systematics, environmental activities and protected areas. Several types of publications are available in the fields of faunistics and floristry: faunistic and floristic lists of any region of the world, faunistic and floristic discoveries (for example, registration of new species in a particular region, additions to previously published discoveries), and works on the methodology of faunistic and floristic studies.

“Our most important task is to turn the journal into a high-quality world-class publication. Without the help of modern publishers, this is almost impossible. The publisher’s choice was unambiguous - the reputation of Pensoft Publishers and its founder, the famous Bulgarian zoologist Lubomir Penev, is impeccable. It is an honor for us to stand in line with powerful publications with a long history. High standards of editing and reviewing works, the absolute level of originality and scientific innovation are the criteria that we will count on”, commented Roman Yakovlev, editor-in-chief of the journal, professor at Altai State University.

“Pensoft is happy to welcome this wonderful partnership with another research institute in Russia. Taking into account our experience in publishing and disseminating research results in the fields of zoology and biodiversity, I am sure that the journal will take its rightful place in the family of Pensoft and ARPHA publications”, commented Professor Lubomir Penev, CEO and founder of Pensoft and ARPHA.

The first publications in 2020 are already available online on the new Acta Biologica Sibirica website.
