Alexander Erin from Novosibirsk State Technical University has created a new youth media, YouthPress, which will become a network platform for the member universities of the Association of Asian Universities.

The meeting of the Association of Asian universities was held on the premises of Altai State University in late September. Now the association includes 70 higher educational institutions. The universities represent Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Thailand.

“By participating in the development of international youth cooperation, first as a volunteer, and later as a project organizer, over time I came to realize that every international event, every international project demonstrates how little we know about each other, how little we know about our peers in foreign countries, about their interests, aspirations, lifestyles, opportunities and challenges that face them. And they also know almost nothing about us, with the exception, perhaps, of a few stereotypes,” Alexander Erin said.

According to the creator of the network project, Youth Press will be a non-commercial international online media on the life of young people around the world. Journalists will prepare monthly publications – notes, articles, photos, videos, telling about young people in their city, region or country, their projects and activities, lifestyles and hobbies, and will also share their thoughts with peers from foreign countries. Youth Press publications will be posted both on social media and on the most popular Internet resources among young people in each country participating in the project.

According to Alexander Erin, in addition to the publication site itself, the journalist also receives support during the preparation of materials. The curators of the project accompany journalists in each country that joined Youth Press, help them choose a topic, collect material, make recommendations based on the prepared text, organize trainings, master classes and meetings with experts.
