Delegation from Heilongjiang University of China visited Altai State University

On January 13, Altai State University was visited by representatives of the Heilongjiang University of China.

Heilongjiang University is one of the main partners of Altai State University at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University. Heilongjiang University is a multidisciplinary educational institution with a focus on the humanities, where the key profile is teaching of foreign languages, including Russian.

Altai State University Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development Roman I. Raikin and Head of Altai State University's Department of International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility Svetlana V. Glushanina held talks with Sun Chao, Director of the Institute of Russian Language, and Hu Xiaofen, Director of International Affairs Department at Heilongjiang University.

During the negotiations, Ms. Hu Xiaofeng noted that Heilongjiang University is interested in developing cooperation with Altai State University, in particular, in the field of student exchange. So, for example, today one of the key universities in China has sent 21 undergraduates to study in Russia.

Chinese guests said that before leaving, they conducted a survey among students studying in Russia and found out that postgraduate students from Heilongjiang had only positive memories of the level of teaching at Altai State University.

“The management of Heilongjiang University is very pleased with the cooperation with Altai State University and intends to develop it,” Ms. Hu Xiaofeng emphasized.

“We plan to expand cooperation with Heilongjiang University, so that we could host Chinese students and send Russian ASU students to internships of varying lengths not only within the SCO, but also on the basis of bilateral cooperation agreement. During the negotiations, we invited the university to join the Association of Asian Universities, which representatives of Heilongjiang University were very interested in. Today, Chinese colleagues also got acquainted with the supervisors of Regional Studies educational program, which is often chosen by Chinese students, and visited the Department of Russian as Foreign Language,” R.I. Raikin concluded.
