ASU enters the top 30 leading universities of Russia in QS EECA 2020 ranking

On October 15, the British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the results of the globally recognized QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia.

The ranking presents 350 universities of the world, including the 105 best universities of Russia.

Flagship Altai State University has taken the 142nd position in the overall ranking and the 28th position among Russian universities. Altai State University ranked among the group of the 5-100 Project participants – Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI", I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, Siberian Federal University and South Ural State National Research University, at the same time being ahead of 11 national research and 5 federal universities of Russia.

The expert assessment is based on the results of surveys of representatives of the academic and business communities. Data on the ratio of teachers and students, the number of scientific publications, citation indices, the share of doctors of science in the university staff, the number of foreign teachers and foreign students were also taken into account.

QS annually publishes the lists of the best higher education institutions in the world, as well as individual states and economic regions.

QS rankings are recognized as one of the most influential ones in the world along with Academic Ranking of World Universities and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
