Altai State University entered the list of the top 30 leading Russian universities in the Google Scholar ranking

The results of the global academic ranking Webometrics Top Universites by Google Scholar Citations 2020 have been published, in which the assessment of universities in the world is carried out based on the analysis of author’s citation rate in the Google Scholar system.

Among almost 4 thousand leading universities in the world, represented in the ranking, Altai State University has risen by 166 positions, taking the 28th position among the leading universities in Russia and 1780 position - among all the universities of the planet.

Altai State University is ranked at the level of well-known universities in the USA and France, and among Russian universities - at the level of universities that are part of the project to increase global competitiveness "5-100" - Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI"  and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).

In total, 79 Russian universities were able to enter the ranking. AltSU confidently takes the 5th place among the universities of the Siberian Federal District, second only to the universities of the "5-100" project: National Research Tomsk State University (TSU),  Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), Novosibirsk State University (NSU), and Siberian Federal University (SibFU).

The Webometrics Top Universites by Google Scholar Citations ranks nearly one million personal pages of academics in Google Academy affiliated with specific universities. The university’s position in the ranking is determined by the analysis of citation of the top-210 of its authors in Google Scholar.

The ranking methodology is as transparent as possible. It corresponds to world trends in the development of science and education, and serves as an objective indicator of the quality of research conducted at the university. The measurement results of Webometrics Top Universites by Google Scholar Citations will be used to determine the openness criterion in the formation of the global Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities 2020.

The achieved results clearly demonstrate the dynamic development of Altai State University and the increase in its recognition in the international academic community.
