On December 3, a presentation of a new cultural and aesthetic project “Humanitarian portal of the Institute of Humanities” took place at the Universum Gallery of Altai State University. The presentation was held in the genre of a creative salon in memory of one of the founders of the Altai Writers' Organization, a public figure, Honorary Citizen of Barnaul and Altai Krai Mark Yudalevich.

Director of the Institute of Humanities Larisa Nekhvyadovich noted that the new project is an open interactive platform for holding events aimed at expanding horizons in the humanities, developing critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills. Scientists in humanities in cooperation with creative students of AltSU will acquaint the university staff and guests with the best cultural achievements of Altai, Russia, and the world, with prominent names in the history of the university, city, and region.

The organizers predict that academic dialogues and interactive art and aesthetic projects will allow students to learn to correctly reflect themselves as a unit of the Universe and offer it their knowledge and ideas.

The first event was dedicated to the work of Altai writer and poet Mark Yudalevich, and chronologically close to his birthday. Tatiana Raiskikh, Vice-Rector for Extracurricular Activities and Additional Education of the University opened the presentation. Yulia Kiryushina, Head of the Department of Culturology and Design, IH, addressed the participants of the event - teachers and students of the Institute of Humanities with a welcoming speech. The presenter of the creative salon Elena Balakina, the author of books about Mark Yudalevich, introduced the audience to the main pages of the biography and work of the writer. The best poems and excerpts from the prose of Mark Yudalevich were performed by the 1st-3rd-year students of the Institute of Geology, prepared by Director Galina Zvorygina. Members of the Writers' Union of Russia became the guests of the salon. Poetess, composer Irina Shvenk performed her songs to the poems of Mark Yudalevich. Poetess Tatyana Kuznetsova, a member of the studio of young poets under the guidance of Mark Yudalevich, introduced them to her works. Evgeny Bondarev, an employee of library № 20 in the city of Barnaul, named after Mark Yudalevich, greeted the guests of the Humanitarian Portal.

The writer's work absorbed and reflected the main features of his time: patriotic and heroic attitude, moral purity and educational spirit, light humor, beauty and sincerity of feelings, as the organizers said. The participants of the event touched the harsh rhythms of the Great Patriotic War, plunged into the atmosphere of the All-Union Komsomol initiative called "Virgin lands" (the story "Andreika in the Virgin lands"), together with "The Blue Lady" walked along the old stairs and halls of the building of the current City Hall, with Alexander Kolchak (novel "The Admiral's Hour") painfully pondered the fate of Russia and their personal participation in its future.

The Humanitarian Portal develops its activities in different genres and forms. New events will be announced later.
