ASU improved its positions in ARES-2017 international ranking
European Scientific-Industrial Chamber has recently published the results of the international ranking of higher education establishments – ARES-2017 annual academic ranking. The aim of the ranking is to assess the quality of universities according to the European standards, including ESG-2015 (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area).
Altai State University took the 46th place in 2016, but it managed to improve its positions and has taken the 44th place by outrunning 3 federal and 6 national research universities. All in all, the ranking included 186 Russian universities with 26 Siberian universities among them.
According to the ranking results, Altai State University was assigned BBB category (“Good quality performance”), which means that the quality of education and academic work at the university is reliable. The same category was assigned to such major universities as Samara State University, Southern Ural State University, National Research University of Electronic Technology, Izhevsk State Technical University, Belgorod State Technological University, Kuban State University and Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University.
The ranking takes into account the following factors: scientific activity, international collaboration, graduates’ being in demand, computerization, level of training and international recognition of teaching staff, membership in European academies of science, honors, and cooperation with employers. The data is processed automatically, which eliminates the possibility of human-factor mistakes.
ARES observes the conformance of education quality to the European standards and the universities’ capability to provide students with necessary knowledge, cooperate with the future employers and carry out research activity.
The achievement has become possible due to cooperative, hard and meticulous work of the university employees. It shows the high growth dynamic of Altai State University, which is confirmed by brilliant performance in other Russian (Expert RA, Interfax) and international (QS BRICS, QS EECA, Webometrics, Unirank) rankings.
