ASU entered the TOP-25 innovative universities of Russia in SCImago Institutions Rankings

The SCImago Laboratory announced the latest issue of the international university ranking (SCImago Institutions Rankings 2019). The ranking was developed in partnership with Elsevier.

A total of 3471 universities of the world are represented in the ranking, including 111 leading Russian universities.
This year, flagship Altai State University has gained 3 positions in the ranking and occupied the 42nd place among Russian universities.

The ranking is based on 12 criteria, evaluated in the context of three areas:

  1. Research. This group includes eleven criteria, the total weight coefficient of which is 50%. The source of information for this group is the Scopus database.
  2. Innovation. This group includes three criteria, the total weight coefficient of which is 30%. The source of information is the PATSTAT database.
  3. Societal impact. Three web indicators are included, the total weight coefficient is 20%. The sources of information are Google and Ahrefs.

As for evaluation of innovative activity, ASU entered the TOP-25 innovative universities of Russia, sharing the 22 position with such leaders of the Russian higher education as Bauman Moscow State Technical University and the participant of the 5-100 Project – Siberian Federal University.
