ASU enters top 100 universities in the world in U-Multirank 2019 global ranking

Altai State University entered U-Multirank 2019 international ranking of universities, published by the European Centre for Higher Education Development.

A total of 1.7 thousand universities in the world are represented in the ranking, including 40 leading universities of Russia. The list of the best universities includes 16 representatives of the 5-100 Project and 7 flagship universities of Russia.

ASU took the 78th position among 1,700 universities in the world and entered the TOP-10 universities of Russia among such leading higher education institutions as Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, Tomsk State University, N.I. Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, Siberian Federal University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia and Higher School of Economics.

Altai State University received the largest number (12) of A grades (the highest score) among the flagship universities of Russia, including in such categories as strategic partnerships in the field of R&D, academic mobility, small innovative enterprises and supplementary vocational education.

U-Multirank ranking is implemented by the European Centre for Higher Education Development in a consortium with a number of research organizations (Consortium for Higher Education and Research Performance Assessment). The consortium is headed by the CHE Center for Higher Education, Germany.

According to the compilers of U-Multirank, the main purpose of the ranking is to form an objective view of all interested groups about different areas of university activity. The following criteria are taken: teaching and academic performance, research, knowledge transfer, internationalization, participation in regional development.

This multidimensional ranking makes it possible to compare Russian and foreign universities according to those criteria and areas of work that are of direct interest to applicants and students.
